Disposal & recycling
Last updated: October 8, 2026
Electrical devices and batteries do not belong in household waste. Here you can find out which devices and batteries we take back and how to return them.
Electrical and electronic devices
We take back electrical and electronic devices of the kind we sell – for example LED lights and decorations, fairy lights, and battery-operated toys and decorative items – free of charge for disposal. This applies regardless of the brand, and even if you did not buy the device from us or are not buying anything new. The take-back itself is free of charge; if you send a device to us by post, you pay the postage (see below).
The crossed-out wheeled bin symbol on a device means that it does not belong in household waste but must be collected separately.
Batteries
Used batteries must be handed in for disposal at a point of sale or a battery collection point. We take back portable batteries free of charge. In Switzerland, batteries are subject to an advance disposal fee (VEG) that finances their disposal.
Where possible, remove batteries and rechargeable batteries from the device before returning it, and cover the terminals of lithium batteries with tape.
How to return devices and batteries
- At a collection point: you can hand in electrical devices and batteries free of charge at any collection point for electrical devices or batteries, and at any retailer in Switzerland that sells such devices or batteries.
- By post to us: send the device or the batteries to Swiss Trend Trade GmbH, Recycling, Bahnhofstrasse 15, Wangen, Schwyz, 8855, Switzerland. Please enclose a note saying "For disposal".
Disposal is free of charge for you. The sender pays the postage for sending the items to us; unfortunately, we cannot accept parcels without postage.
Please do not send damaged, swollen or leaking lithium batteries, or devices containing such batteries, by post – hand them in directly at a collection point.
We take all returned devices and batteries to be disposed of properly.
